CruiseGourmet.com Magazine is an Internet publication with a focus on food, wine and luxury cruise/destination travel. Renowned cruise writer, travel critic and author, Arnold (Arie) Boris, hosts this lively and engaging web magazine. “CruiseGourmet.com” combines the best of travel with the best of food. We also have a feature section called “Cruising Altitude” with reviews of premium in-flight service and dining on intercontinental airlines. According to a reader survey, almost one-third of all passengers traveling overseas on a luxury cruise, travel in first or business class.
Travel, along with food and wine are the most popular subjects on the Internet. The Travel Industry Association claims that 72% of all travelers, or more than 70 million people consult the Internet for at least some portion of their travel planning process.
Twelve million people chose a cruise vacation in 2006. Close to one million more than in 2005, reflecting the cruise industry’s continuing dramatic growth. In terms of customer feedback, along with price and destination, cuisine is a primary influence on selecting a cruise vacation. Due to a weak currency exchange rate against the Euro in 2007, according to the New York Times, cruising is now one of the most economical ways to visit Europe and has the highest customer satisfaction rate of any package vacation.
Editorial emphasis is on dining at sea and in ports of call, with a focus on recipes, reviews and ratings of restaurants (on board and on shore), food preparation and executive chef personalities. We have recently added an online CruiseGourmet.com Forum where you can post your observations and reviews of cruises, restaurants, recipes and a variety of cruise/dining related subjects…. coming soon a CG membership/subscription series of ‘how to” streaming video/DVD recipes for home cooking.
Bon voyage and bon appetit!
