Executive Chef Wolfgang Maier - M/S Regatta

Executive Chef, Wolfgang Maier was born in Carinthia, the beautiful countryside of the southern part of Austria.

In 1990 Wolfgang at the age of fourteen started his culinary apprenticeship and during the next ten years, worked in various luxury hotels and restaurants in Austria and Germany, Many with stars from the Michelin Guide where he gained valuable experience.

In 1997 he boarded his first cruise ship, Hapag Lloyd’s M/S Europa, as an assistant chef.

He joined Silversea in 1999 starting onboard the Silver Cloud. As part of the inaugural team for the Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper, Chef Wolfgang worked his way up to Executive Sous Chef.

After four years with Silversea, refining his talents and managing all aspects of the galley operation, he was offered a position as Executive Chef with Oceania Cruises introducing the inaugural season of the M/S Regatta in 2003.
