The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Gathers the Guys for the Perfect Catch

Angling to bring the boys together for a weekend on the water?  Rods, reels, and a few tall tales…er, tails?  Set sail aboard the Ocean Explorer for the Guys Ultimate Fishing Getaway this summer, and you’re in store for more than just a wriggling worm on a hook.  Taking their tackle through the famed Inside Passage between Port Hardy and Prince Rupert until September (departing from Hakai Pass, near Bella Bella), Ocean Explorer offers an opportunity to kick back and hang – in style.  Aboard a 110-foot luxury vessel decked out with nine private staterooms, menus boasting local fare, a hot tub and plenty of Cuban cigars, you’ll be hard pressed to leave the decks.  That is, until you head out with guides aboard 17-foot skiffs to little-known coves and inlets teeming with chinook salmon, king-size halibut and even jumbo prawns.  Thanks to the expertise of your guides, a catch is more than in the net.  And for fish-free time on the water, guys can explore the rugged coastline via kayak – keeping watch for bald eagles, whales and sea lions.  Casting off with three nights on the boat, round-trip airfare, meals, guides, gear and those cigars - is more incentive really required?  After all, in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast, getaways aren’t just for the gals.  www.adventurewestresorts.com
